Gluten Free Cooking Classes

The classes run weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10.30 to 1.30.  You can book any class you may be interested in for the day that is most suitable to you.  I do recommend however, that the first class you choose is "Simple Beginnings".  This class encompasses basic baking techniques, tools of the trade and the products that are safe to use for those sensitive to gluten.

As the classes are made for one on one instruction, the maximum number of people in a class is four.  That way the pace is set by your ability, and plenty of time can be given when you need it.  No prior baking knowledge is required, as you will learn along the way.  The cost for each class is $110 and includes all ingredients, the products you have made and will take home and the recipes you have baked from that day.  At the end of the class a sample of your baking will feature during High Tea.

The classes available are as follows:

Simple Beginnings
You will learn the basics of baking in this simple introductory class.
Recipes featured are:

Chocolate Slice: Learn how to make this simple slice that you can vary to your family’s tastes.  Ideal for kids to help with or even to make themselves if they require no supervision.

Pizza:  A delicious pizza base that rivals any other product on the market.

Choc Chip Biscuits: A very simple biscuit recipe that you will enjoy adapting to suit your tate buds.

Pastry – Sweet and Savoury
Gluten Free pastries are simple to make at home and just require a food processor and rolling pin.  With easy instruction you will make beautiful pastry dishes that are sure to impress.

Grain Free Baking
A step beyond gluten free, grain free baking utilising besan or chickpea flour (a high protein non-gluten containing flour), encourages expanded thinking in baking.

Using my Grain Free Bread Mix as a starting point, you will make soft seeded rolls and discuss the product’s other uses.

Light bakewell cakes using ground almonds and filled with morello cherries and cream.

The most airy and delicious vanilla sponge cake you will ever eat!

Daily Bread
The most asked for gluten free product is a really good bread.  These breads are a snap to bake and are very impressive

A white bread that is good for sandwiches, toast and bread rolls and easily adaptable to a variety of other breads

French Baguettes for entertaining

Focaccia with toppings that are limited only by your imagination

Pasta
Making pasta by hand is a skill that has been around for many years.  It is a fun and relaxing activity that you will enjoy.

You will be making fettuccini and ravioli that in my opinion surpass the wheat based alternative for flavour and carbohydrate goodness.

Classes cost $110 and are run on Tuesdays and Saturdays by appointment/booking only, so why not contact us and book the classes.
